Snatch. je gotovo eden mojih najljubših akcijskih filmov in po tem, ko sem bil nekoliko razočaran nad zadnjim projektom Guya Ritchieja, Revolver, se sedaj veselim njegovega RocknRolla, ki prihaja v kina jeseni. Upam, da krimič ne bo preveč resen in da bo Ritchie ponovno navduševal s črnim humorjem in fantastičnimi dialogi, ki povezujejo njegove tarantinaste zgodbe. Spodaj je par kultnih clipov iz Snatch., ki spomnijo točno kako dobro so izdelani liki Turkisha, Tommyja, Mickeyja, Brick topa, Franky four fringersa, Bullet tooth Tonyja in drugih.

Spodnji video se je danes, po objavi na slashfilms, pojavil v mojem GReaderju. Carlos Lascano je menda eden najinovativnejših in kritično priznanih stop-motion animatorjev dandanes, in sodeč po temu kar sem videl, oznaki ne bi pretirano ugovarjal. V ozadju poslušamo prelepo Hoppipolla Sigur Rós, katere videospot je sam po sebi presežek v svoji kategoriji.
Če ima kdo link za njegov drugi kratki film, The Legend of the Scarecrow, s podnapisi, bi prosil zanj. In the meanwhile, enjoy the video!

Od devetindvajsetega februarja je na youtubeu brezplačno na voljo glasbeni dokumentarec/impresionistični film Deana DeBloisa Heima, nekakšen enoinpolurni videospot razredčen z intervijuji in nekaj random zadevščinami. Sigur Rós so ob tem napisali sledeče:

‘heima’ is sigur rós’s first ever film, filmed over two weeks during the summer of 2006 when the band undertook a series of free, unannounced concerts in iceland. they hauled 40-plus people round 15 locations to the furthest flung corners of their homeland for their debut venture into live film, to create something, well, inspirational.
on their way they went to ghost towns, outsider art shrines, national parks, small community halls and the absolute middle-of-nowhere-ness of the highland wilderness, as well as playing the largest gig of their career (and in icelandic history) at their homecoming reykjavik show.
‘heima’ (icelandic for “at home” or “homeland”), truly, shows sigur rós as never before. whereas seeing the group live is normally a large-scale and sometimes overwhelming experience, making full use of lights and mesmeric visuals, ‘heima’ was always intended to reveal more of what was actually going on on stage. it does this via long-held close-ups and a rare intimate proximity, without ever once breaking the spell.
loosely based on a documentary format - and including personal reflections from the band - ‘heima’ also serves as an alternative primer for iceland the country, which is revealed as less stag destination-du-jour and more desolate, magical place where human beings have little right to trespass.
‘heima’ features performances of songs from all four sigur rós albums, many radically reworked, as well as two exclusive new songs in ‘guitardjamm’, which was filmed inside an abandoned herring oil tank in the far west of the country, and the traditional ‘a ferd til breidarfjardar 1922′, performed with poet steindor andersen.
‘heima’ was directed by dean deblois, a long-time fan of the band and director of the oscar-nominated animated feature ‘lilo & stitch’, using an icelandic crew.”

Ta film je čisto zares nekaj posebnega. Sam Mendes čara za kamero, Kevin Spacey pred njej. Scenarij je spisal Alan Ball, človek, ki je kriv zato, da sem jaz 5/4 prostega časa v decembru zabil pred ekranom. Je namreč avtor HBOjeve serije Six feet under.
V glavnem, spodaj je finiš tega petkrat-z-oskarjem-in-trikrat-z-zlatim-globusom nagrajenega masterpiecea. Pure beauty.

Ekranizacija njegovega življenja je eden mojih najljubših filmov. Milos Forman in Jim Carrey truely outdid themselves! Pa ne govorim le o res kvalitetni imitaciji ter o nasploh zanimivem življenju, ki je podlaga filmu, všeč mi je v vseh aspektih in vedno znova me navduši. Najprej te noro nasmeji, potem se zaljubiš, nato en orng descent in pa katarzičen konec. Luv it!
Spodaj sem prilepil tri real-life posnetke Andyja Kaufmana, pa še enega iz filma. Kdo je boljši? Ne vem. Carrey le kopira, ampak vseeno precej fascinantno!
